Our Family has been in the Livestock business since 1972 serving North Alabama as a order buyer by purchasing cattle from the local farmers and shipping them to customers in the Midwest states. We feel it is more important today than it ever has been to support the local farmers of North Alabama. We also feel like people want to know where their meat is coming from, our Beef will be 100% USA Beef purchased locally from the farmers of North Alabama and will be USDA inspected. Back in December we started purchasing Black Angus steers from the local cattle auctions of North Alabama and started the process of feeding them grain until they finish out and have them processed locally and sale a good quality meat. The cattle are started on a high quality protein feed once we receive them at our barn this is fed along with cracked corn. We keep them on this feed ration until they are ready for processing. We also do not use antibiotics or growth hormones after we receive the cattle at our barn. We have always fed our own beef and it beats store bought beef by a long shot. #buylocal
We sell half or whole beef. This is Premium Black Angus USDA inspected grain fed beef. The price is $3.65 on the hanging weight. A half of beef will be around 225 -250 pounds of vacuum sealed meat. This makes the price per pound around $5.50-$5.75 depending on how you get your meat cut up. These cattle are raised locally and processed locally.
The local butcher shop lets the meat hang for 14 days before cutting up the meat into individual cuts, this allows the meat to age and produces a more tender meat over one that is cut up without be allowed to hang. The feed that we feed along with the 14 day hanging period produces a high quality good tasting meat.
